Glide it out!

My client that belongs to this glider has boys...all boys!! Yes, this glider has been thru a lot, but now it was time for a make over because she is having a girl!! Her original idea was to do have pink involved, and how could you blame her...she has never know anything outside of boy colors. But when it came down to crunch time she opted for a different look., which i love! She decided to use a painters drop cloth and then black duck cloth for the piping. I love it!! its kinda hollywood glam.... It will go great with pink accents in the nursery and your not stuck with a pink glider... I boxed up the seat cushion and added a box pleat skirt to the ottoman. Now she can glide that sweet new baby in style!! Glorious! Right?! There is some exciting things in the works for me and my "fungeon" right now and I am keeping you in suspense!! I still have room for a few more clients in august. You better hurry up and book soon, because prices will be going up!

ruffled out...

So my friend officially renamed the dungeon to "fun-geon" and I am rolling with it! Sure its dark and unfinished, but hey, it works and dang it! Lots of fun happens down there! I am headed out of town for the weekend on a "stay cation" with the whole fam! We go up to Deer Valley every summer and stay in a fabulous house and do nothing but play. So excited!! But I wanted to share an ottoman I finished yesterday for one of my favorite clients! She is awesome! She has a chair/ottoman combo we are doing. She originally was gonna do a more expensive fabric for the chair, but after seeing the ottoman she switched gears. So will be doing her chair when I get home. So back to the ottoman. She had a certain way she wanted the ottoman to look. So after a few magazine shots and hand drawn sketches later (which is so funny, both of our hand drawn pictures look like my 3 yr old drew them! lol!) we nailed down the design. Instead of doing the tradition piping with welt, we did a french welt and then ruffled it. She wanted a more loose and casual fit, so I hemmed the bottom and vuala! Before: After: How sweet it that! It turned out great!! After seeing it, she decided against going with super expensive fabric for the chair. Instead she is gonna use drop cloth and get a yard or two of the expensive stuff and will do the piping and a few pillows out of it. This was a good call since the chair will be in the family room. Just a reminder.... get your stuff booked with me soon to keep my current prices, they will be going up in a few weeks!

Pillow Talk

Can I just say...My clients are the best!!! Cute Katie came to me to make some pillows for her. Amanda, who happens to be amazing, was the one who told her about me! Katie had some fabulous fabric she had been hanging on to for a while and now was the time to turn stack of random fabric into some pretty rockin pillows! I just love the prints she went with! Did I mention she is super smart too. She went to ikea and bought white curtain panels to be used as the backs for the pillows. Because she did that, she was able to stretch her fabric further, we were able to get 2 pillows out of each yard instead of 1 that was front and back. Here I did the fun paisley pillow and the black and white moroccan print behind. So fun! Here I did the cute little bolster pillow out of the left over paisley print. i could not get over this awesome geometric print! We did 7 pillows total. I can't wait to see the room with all the pillows together! **Just a reminder....my prices will be going up in the next few weeks, so hurry and book now so you can get my CURRENT pricing for all your future projects! Thats how much I love my clients!!**
